Brothers and Sisters,
What a wonderful opportunity we had this past weekend at stake conference to feel the Spirit, rejuvenate our souls, and experience the Savior’s love through those around us. I came away from the meetings feeling uplifted, strengthened, and deeply loved. One of the many things that stood out to me was a statement Elder Ames shared: “Do not be confused about how the Lord feels about each of us.”
It is difficult to fully comprehend the infinite love the Savior has for each of His children. There is a divine plan for every one of us, and as we spend daily time with the Savior, we will discover increased joy and meaningful opportunities prepared just for us.
As I have pondered how to more intentionally turn to Christ—our light and our guide—I have reflected on Alma 37:6: “…by small and simple things are great things brought to pass.” Each day we have opportunities to let our light shine and bless those around us. The hymn “Brightly Beams Our Father’s Mercy” beautifully teaches this principle:
“But to us He gives the keeping of the lights along the shore;
Let the lower lights be burning, send a gleam across the wave;
Some poor fainting, struggling seaman you may rescue, you may save.”
As we intentionally draw closer to the Savior, our light will naturally shine brighter. Not only will our own lives improve, but we will be guided to share impressions, encouragement, and love with those who need to feel the Savior’s influence in their lives.
I invite each of us to remember how the Savior feels about every person we encounter. As we see the world through that lens, our relationship with Jesus Christ will deepen, and I testify that great things will follow.
