You Belong

Dear Brothers and Sisters,
We were born with a need for belonging, wired to connect to others. We live in a world that promises belonging in a variety of ways, some more superficial than others. In our search for belonging, we may become distracted from the most unconditional source of belonging we will ever have — our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is prepared to gather us under His wings (3 Nephi 10:6) no matter our current circumstances in life. He knows the pain we carry, even when others cannot see it (Alma 7:11–12).
We find belonging in Christ by making Him an active part of our day as we study and apply the scriptures to our lives. We find belonging in Christ in the temple by remembering our covenants and renewing our commitment to follow Him. We find belonging as we help each other on the covenant path and remember how blessed we are to help prepare the world for His second coming. We find belonging when we live more intentionally in Christ — when we pray more intently, care more fully, render assistance more readily, and love more completely.
We invite you to live more intentionally in Christ by taking actions that will remind you that you belong in Him, and that we belong together as we walk the covenant path back to our heavenly home.
With love in Christ,
Sister Barbara Stokes & Brother John Holt
